Senior Software QA Engineer - Kindle Fire apps at Amazon (Sunnyvale, CA)

With the recent launch of our new Kindle Fire devices, we are growing and looking for a talented Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer who is passionate about quality and enthusiastic about new cutting edge technology. Join a team of seasoned, hands-on SQA professionals focused on developing innovative consumer-centric product solutions.

The Role
  • Create test plans and test cases.
  • Review user interfaces for conformity and functionality.
  • Efficiently execute test cases across all functional areas of our products.
  • Review product user interface for conformity to design guidelines.
  • Find, isolate, document, and track bugs through resolution.
  • Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process.
  • Work with Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5-7+ years of Software QA testing experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in black box and grey box testing
  • Background in automation using Java or other object-oriented programming language
  • Experience in Perl, Python, Shell or other scripting language
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and analyze log files
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects end-to-end

  • Experience testing Android, iOS or other mobile applications
  • Product experience with wireless consumer electronics
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize results
  • Shows creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and problem solving skills
